• When Israel gained their independence and re-established Israel, many Palestinians fled to the Gaza Strip. -1948-49

• The war ended with the 'Amistice Agreement'. It provided temporary border locations for each country called the 'Green Line'. This included the Gaza Strip. This strip was a contention between Egypt and Israel. -(1949)​

• Egypt breaks the 'Armistice agreement' via the stoppage of border crossing at the Suez Canal. -1954​

• Israel invades the Suez Canal and occupies Gaza. It is called the '1956 Suez Canal Crisis'. -(1956-57)

• Under IC pressure, Egypt occupies Gaza, and the Suez Canal. (1959​-67)

• The Egyptian mobilize forces with Jordan and the closer of Gulf of Aqaba, along with additional Arab nations to capture more territory. This resulted in a pre-war conquest by Israel which resulted in Israels' conquering the Sinai Peninsula and the Gaza Strip, called the Six-Day War. -1967

• The Yom Kippur War occured in retaliation to areas gained by Israel during the Six-Day war. Israel maintained the Gaza Strip. -1973

• The first attempts of non-peace actions, to conquer Gaza were from the Palestinians. It is called the 'First Intifadah'. -(1987-2007)​​

• The Hamas emerges as a terror group within Gaza. -2006

• Israel build a barrier to stop the flow of migrants and weapons into Gaza from Egypt. -1994

• The attempts at peace began in Oslo, Norway, known as 'Oslo Accord'. Peace began to increase after the signing of the 'Declaration of Principle', under Clinton, which allowed the Palestinians to govern themselves. Israel gradually withdraws from Gaza. -1994

• Many attacks from Israel and the Palestians resulted in unrest causing an uprising during the 'Second Intifadah'. -(2000-05)​

• Israel closes its' border completely to Gaza. This was an attempt to stop the flow of weapons and attacks in Israel. -2002

• Hamas was elected as apart of the Palestinian Legislative Council, in Gaza. Civil war broke between Hamas and Fatah, in which Hamas won and began to govern Gaza. -2006

• Their quest for control of Gaza, however led to various attack into Israeli territory. However, when Hamas captured, Israeli Corp. Shalit a fierce batte began called the 2006 Battle for Gaza. -(2006-07)

• Israel closes its' border completely after many rocket launch into Israel. -2007

• Many battles continue along the border between Israel and Hamas, including various wars, such as, 2008-09 Gaza War, 2012 Gaza War and the 2014 Gaza War -(2010-24)​​​​
